(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - A Quran recitation session was held Saturday, October 8, in the mausoleum of Hazrat Abbas (AS) in Karbala, Iraq. The session was attended by a number of internationally-known Iraqi Quran reciters and experts. Aimed at fostering the Quranic culture in Iraqi society, the Quran recitation session was organized by the Dar-ol-Quran Center affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of the mausoleum. Sheikh Muhammad Javad As-Salami, director of the center, said the program was part of the country’s third Quranic week. Eminent Quran reciters like Rafi Al-Ameri, Amer Al-Kazemi, and Mesam At-Tammar were present in the session, he said. Sheikh As-Salami went on to say that such Quranic programs play an important role in promoting the Quranic spirit among the people and encouraging them to learn the Quran./129
